Program Description
Anyone with even a basic understanding of healthcare knows that medical support staff make all the difference when it comes to patient care. This likely explains today’s growing demand for medical assistants, with medical facilities actively looking to recruit skilled professionals for this role. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that employment of medical assistants will grow by 12% through 2034 — that’s four times faster than the average for all occupations.
At Delta College, our Medical Assistant program is centered around our dedicated faculty, who bring years of professional healthcare experience to the classroom and prioritize student success and practical, hands-on learning. Our graduates are prepared and eligible to sit for national certification exams from the National Healthcareer Association, including the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, EKG Technician, Phlebotomy, and Electronic Records certification tests.
Day and evening classes are available.

We teach both clinical and administrative skills because today’s medical assistant needs to know how to do both in order to make the most of their career opportunities. Our students learn medical bookkeeping, medical insurance billing and coding, medical office ethics, and medical records, in addition to anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, dosage calculations, administering injections, phlebotomy techniques, EKG procedures, and more. The Delta College Medical Assistant program prepares you to step into the workforce ready to contribute from day one.
